JEFF LANG | CHASE THE SUNThe Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music is just about to get hotter with the announcement of the headliners for this year’s festival – sure to set the ski fields sizzling with their formidable talent, blazing big band sounds and authentic reggae beats. The festival team are delighted to announced that the 2010 headliners are Blue King Brown, Jeff Lang & Mista Savona. The award-winning infectious energy and passion of Blue King Brown is sure to draw one of the biggest crowds to the Snowies. Led by dynamic frontwoman Natalie Pa'apa'a this chart-topping 11 piece rootsy reggae and funk band pulls a crowd wherever it goes. Blue King Brown is reminiscent of the socially conscious reggae of the 1970s and has had sold out shows since it first hit the streets big-time in 2005. Carlos Santana himself said ‘They are the voice of the street and the band of the future’. The festival is thrilled to have Jeff Lang - one of Australia’s most formidable talents as one of the headliners of this year’s festival. Described as a musician that ‘paints pictures in sounds’, Jeff Lang has earned worldwide acclaim as a virtuosic guitarist, dynamic songwriter and startingly unique live performer. An extraordinarily individual musician blending rock, roots, folk, blues, ballads and improvisation and a stunning lyricist, this is a chance to experience one of our most accomplished musicians live and intimate.
‘Turn up the music and let it play’ Melbourne’s awesome ten-piece outfit Mista Savona is going to get festival-goers moving, grooving and talking of revolution. Their blistering new album just released - Warn the Nation – is being hailed as one of the most accomplished reggae albums ever to come out of Australia, and has just taken out Album of the Week on FBI and PBS Radio. Mista Savona is one of Australia's leading exponents of root reggae, dancehall and heavyweight dub music - and they collaborate with some of the biggest names on the reggae scene including Capleton, Sizzla, Horace Andy and Prince Alla. Don’t miss out on experiencing one of the most impressive new bands on the scene.
With 120 concerts from early to late and 130 artists across 9 venues, Australia’s only music festival in the snow is going to wake up Winter with a smorgasboard of flavours from across the world. There’s world, roots, blues, gypsy, reggae, dancehall, klezmer, traditional, acoustic, bluegrass, folk, celtic, funk, rockabilly, spoken word, circus and even a bit of magic.
